Where Did August Go?
Man–August went by REALLY fast, right? I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted to my blog, and I haven’t been as present as I’ve wanted to be on social media, but life has just been happening! Here we are–at the end of August and I’m two months away from my 31st birthday (CRAZY).
In Other News…
I’ve have been in a really weird funk all of August. I haven’t gone to the gym as much I usually do, eaten as healthy as I like to (as in–I haven’t been consuming enough), and most of all–I don’t feel that my blog and my social media platforms are performing as well as they should be. Let me tell ya’ll–I’ve been feeling really defeated lately.
I spent some time with my family in Washington State and didn’t have the opportunity to give as much time to my posts as I wanted. I have a unique family dynamic, so I’ve been focusing on them and (gladly) helping out in any way I can. As a result, August just escaped from my grasp before I could get control of EVERYTHING I like to have control of.
When it’s all said and done, I fought through. I wrote down some goals, sketched out my plans and I’m just ready to re-focus in September. I’m learning how to manage the tough parts of my life by accepting certain things as they are and learning (still learning) to be patient. Patience will definitely be my keyword for September.
The Good News…
August wasn’t all bad because I was featured in two different online publications! I’ve been blogging for a little bit over a year so I’m grateful to already have two features, and a magazine cover under my belt. I’m BEYOND grateful and these are the gentle reminders I needed to remind me that I’m doing the right things. It’s because of this that I say to myself, “don’t be so hard on yourself.” Dallas is one of the largest U.S. cities and my work is being seen and published. It just doesn’t get any better than that!

- Get my arse in the gym (4+ times a week)
- Cook nutritious meals at home and take-in adequate calories
- Increase my social media presence
- Meet with local influencer(s) at least twice
- Get at least two new collaborations
